Pair French Beech Country/Provincial Carver Armchairs

Wonderful pair of French antique country carver armchairs, dating from the early 20th century. The frame is made from beech wood with woven rush seating, and the back splats carved with a charming dragon to the centre. An unusual feature is the square tapered front stretcher that joins the front legs of each chair. A superb pair of chairs, full of rustic French country character, with a historical repair to the back of one of the chairs, as shown in picture but still strong and sturdy. Height: 94cm.
